I’m a student because I like it, not because it´s my responsibility.

By: Emilia Pineda Mesa, student from Klasse 8D.

School ends at 3:10 p. m., but I don’t stop learning.

Monday: Swimming.

It gives me mental clarity and quietness to organize my priorities and to start my week off well.

Tuesday: UN Model.

It contributes to my critical thinking about current topics. It allows me to understand things from a wider perspective. And one of the most important aspects is that, it doesn’t matter if the topics follow my ideals or not, it increases my ability to present arguments and it makes me feel powerful.

Wednesday: CECAM.

We practice democracy and we contribute to our School. I like to see it as a way to give back to the school and thank them for our academic and moral education because we represent all students.

Thursday: Choir.

Connecting my voice to my head is like planting a seed. You water it like nourishing the mind. And, as it grows, it can stand rain and obstacles but it can also become a delicious fruit that I produce and that is like a song, like art.

Friday: Drama

When I play a role, it feels like more than just representing another person. It feels like becoming that person, living their problems, and feeling their happiness to escape the real world for a moment.

Finally, Deutsche Schule Medellín is much more than classes, it’s the place that turned obligations into happiness.
