Its landscape is different from any other city in Germany. In Frankfurt, a modern architecture stands out: buildings that draw a unique skyline in Germany. Frankfurt am main (Fráncfort del Meno in Spanish) is the most important city of the Federal State of Hesse. It is maybe the most international city in Germany.

This multicultural city is a business center in Germany, it has the third biggest airport in Europe with state-of-the-art technology. For Mitja Lüderwaldt, Director of the Oberstufe section and the Bilingual International Baccalaureate -GIB-, it is a charming city.

Lüderwaldt was born there, and he sees a multicultural metropolis. “Even though many people say that you don’t fall in love with the city at first sight, when you discover it, you learn to love it”, he says. Its modern architecture stands out, and this is a result of the consequences of the Second World War. It is also a melting pot: “This is the German city with the highest number of immigrants. In fact, there are several Colombian restaurants and a disco that only plays music from this region”, he adds.

Another thing that stands out is the way in which its inhabitants see life: “we are liberal and open, there is no place for discrimination”. And that also has to do with the city being home to the European Central Bank.

It is also a place for fairs and conventions, and for these reasons, many tourists from all over the world go there for business or for pleasure. The cultural offer is very wide: there are museums in which you can find great works of universal art. Music, festivals, exhibitions and others are part of the cultural agenda in Frankfurt for the entire year, so there is always something to do.
