Alumnitalk: a space to learn from our alumni
This event took place in August. It is a space where alumni and students shared their experiences of studying in Germany and other countries.
Studying a technical or professional career in Germany is a dream that can come true more easily for all Deutsche Schule Medellín students. However, as exciting as it may be, doubts and uncertainties can also arise. With this in mind, the Office of International Affairs invited some alumni of the school who have studied or are currently studying in Germany to share their experiences with students from Klasse 11 and Klasse 12. They discussed what it's like to live and study in that country, they clarified doubts and answered all the questions the students had about this process that defines people's lives and futures.
“We believe that the best way to foster understanding is to create spaces where peers can address their concerns,” explains Benedikt Weissenburger of the Office of International Affairs, who is constantly creating activities and programs to make it easier for students of the school to pursue higher education in Germany.
The language
One of the most common concerns among DSM students is the language barrier. Although the German language instruction is of very high quality, there is always the fear of taking classes with more technical language. We took the opportunity to speak with three alumni who are currently studying in Germany about their experiences.
